‘Schindler’s List’ Star Caroline Goodall and ‘This City Is Ours’ Actor Hannah Onslow to Lead Short Film ‘The Second Time Around’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Caroline Goodall and Hannah Onslow Cast in New Fantasy-Drama Short

Caroline Goodall, known for her work in “Schindler’s List” and “Hook,” along with Hannah Onslow from “This City Is Ours,” have been confirmed as the lead actors in the upcoming short film titled “The Second Time Around.”

The film, directed by Jack Howard, centers around a scene in a London café on a stormy evening. In the film, a waitress played by Onslow encounters a mysterious older woman portrayed by Goodall. The cast also includes Genevieve Lewis of BBC’s “Doctors” and David Ashton, known from “The Last King of Scotland,” in supporting roles.

Directorial Debut for Jack Howard

“The Second Time Around” is particularly notable as it represents the directorial debut for Nottingham-born Jack Howard, who gained fame as part of the British comedy duo Jack & Dean. Transitioning from comedy to drama, Howard’s first dramatic project was realized through a successful crowdfunding effort that attracted over 500 donors. This short film is intended to function as a proof-of-concept for a potential full-length feature.

The project is produced by Ash Horne and Max Marlow under the banner of 42 Management & Production. Horne, who previously worked as a creative director at the Oscar-winning Slick Films and co-founded the creative studio CANTSEE, brings significant experience to the table. He previously executive produced the BAFTA-nominated short “Marion.” Marlow, associated with A Marlow’s Production, has credentials including producing the acclaimed short “Good Boy” featuring Ben Whishaw and was recently listed in Forbes 30 Under 30.

The production of “The Second Time Around” took place in the Ealing borough of London and concluded late last year with the support of the West London Film Office. The film is currently in post-production and plans are underway to submit it to various film festivals starting this summer. Additionally, the project receives backing from MindOut, an LGBTQ mental health organization, highlighting its commitment to social causes.
