MSPaint Drops Exciting New EP “No Separation”: Watch Their Latest Music Video Now!

The synth-punk band MSPaint from Hattiesburg, Mississippi, has revealed their upcoming EP titled No Separation, set to be released on May 23 through Convulse Records. The band is making a comeback with the release of their new single “Angel,” accompanied by a music video. The video, directed by Alex Thiel, features Thiel himself dressed as a businessman, grappling with intrusive visions until a mysterious hooded figure overcomes him. The video is stylized with visuals reminiscent of the Matrix movie.

The track “Angel” marks MSPaint’s first release since their 2023 debut album, Post-American. The prior album, known for its inclusion of Militarie Gun’s Ian Shelton on the track “Delete It,” was produced by Shelton alongside Taylor Young. Diverging from their previous collaborators, MSPaint chose to work with Julian Cashwan Pratt and Harlan Steel from Show Me the Body for recording and production duties on the No Separation EP.

Synth player Nick Panella shared insights into the band’s creative process, explaining that their music is deeply influenced by the personal dynamics within the group. “We combine different musical ideologies, attempting to blend them into a cohesive community that not only tolerates these differences but flourishes because of them. Being original isn’t just about inventing something new; it’s about exploring and understanding our own internal experiences and those of the people close to us, leading to discoveries that are truly unique,” he stated.
