Amazon MGM Studios has officially announced that producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman will join the production team for the next installment in the James Bond series. Pascal will be producing under her Pascal Pictures banner, while Heyman will produce through his Heyday Films. These discussions were already hinted at last week with rumors that both were in negotiations for the upcoming 007 film.
Commitment to Excellence
Courtenay Valenti, Amazon MGM Studios’ Head of Film, emphasized their careful approach to continuing the legacy of James Bond, a franchise long overseen by Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson. “We are handling every creative aspect of James Bond with the highest level of responsibility,” Valenti stated.
Experienced Producers at the Helm
Valenti praised Pascal and Heyman, recognizing them as part of a distinguished group of producers known for their successful management of major film franchises, achieving both box office success and critical acclaim. “We are privileged to collaborate with Amy Pascal and David Heyman on the forthcoming chapter of James Bond. We are eager to present a story that lives up to this iconic character’s distinguished heritage to audiences worldwide,” Valenti added.
Producers’ Respect for Legacy
Both Pascal and Heyman expressed their honor and excitement about their involvement. “James Bond is one of the most seminal characters in film history,” they said together. “We feel deeply honored to build on the incredible work of Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson. We are both thrilled and committed to maintaining the vibrant essence of Bond as he ventures into his next escapade.”
Pascal’s Ongoing Projects with Amazon MGM Studios
This project marks a continued partnership between Pascal and Amazon MGM Studios. She is currently finalizing “Project Hail Mary,” directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, and has previously produced “Challengers,” directed by Luca Guadagnino. Additionally, Pascal is involved with the upcoming MGM+ and Prime Video series “Spider-Noir” and is also producing “Narnia,” directed by Greta Gerwig for Netflix, and Noah Baumbach’s “Jay Kelly” alongside Heyman.
Heyman’s Diverse Production Portfolio
David Heyman is renowned for producing all eight Harry Potter films and the three “Fantastic Beasts” movies. His portfolio also includes Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood,” Noah Baumbach’s “Marriage Story,” Alfonso Cuarón’s “Gravity,” and Greta Gerwig’s upcoming “Barbie.” Additionally, he produced both “Paddington” and its sequel under Paul King’s direction, as well as “Wonka.”
Heyman is also gearing up for the Harry Potter television series and is in post-production for Taika Waititi’s film adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro’s “Klara and the Sun.”
