James Bond 26 Shocker: Scott Rose-Marsh Screen-Tests for Villeneuve’s Latest Spy Thriller!

Speculation about the next actor to step into James Bond’s shoes is rampant, with names like Tom Holland, Taron Egerton, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and fan favorite Henry Cavill being tossed around. However, with the progression of James Bond 26, which includes the recruitment of director Denis Villeneuve and screenwriter Steven Knight, these speculations may carry more weight. The most recent buzz suggests that Scott Rose-Marsh, an emerging English actor, has auditioned for the role of James Bond under Villeneuve’s direction.

A source close to the film’s production told The Hollywood Reporter that Rose-Marsh was called in around late June to perform a reading from the 1995 film GoldenEye, a session that likely involved Villeneuve. It’s also possible he read from a new script being developed by Steven Knight for Bond 26. The source from Rambling stated that Rose-Marsh was advised to bring his unique interpretation to the role rather than mimic previous Bonds.

At 37, Rose-Marsh has a modest portfolio including roles in Wolves of War and Krays: Code of Silence, and television appearances in Chloe, The Outlaws, and Yr Amgueddfa. His educational background includes training at the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology.

What sets Rose-Marsh apart as a potential James Bond is his red hair, a first for the role on the big screen, just as Daniel Craig was the first blond Bond. Interestingly, another redhead, Patrick Gibson, plays Bond in the new video game 007: First Light, though this is not considered part of the official film series.

WalesOnline previously reported that Rose-Marsh left a call center job just before securing a role in the Welsh-language series Yr Amgueddfa, acquiring most of his acting credits during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rose-Marsh shared with the outlet that he often lands roles as tough characters or gangsters, which he finds amusing since it contrasts sharply with his real-life persona. He assured, “I’m a really nice guy in reality.”
