Alison Brie has laid out conditions for her participation in “Scream 7.”
During her appearance on the podcast “Shut Up Evan,” Brie discussed her proposition for reintroducing her character in the upcoming “Scream 7,” following the announcement that several of her previous colleagues would be making a return in the new movie.
Brie’s husband, Dave Franco, mentioned in the podcast that despite her character’s dramatic death in “Scream 4,” there’s potential for a comeback. “Alison was notably in ‘Scream 4.’ Given the evolving rules of ‘Scream,’ even though she faced a brutal end, we might see her return,” he said.
Highlights in Entertainment
Brie humorously questioned, “So, what about my part in ‘Scream 7’?” The actress previously portrayed Rebecca Walters, a book publicist in “Scream 4,” who met her demise after being stabbed and thrown from a parking garage by Ghostface.
It has been reported that actors David Arquette, Matthew Lillard, and Scott Foley, despite their characters having died, are slated to reprise their roles in the seventh installment. Likewise, “Scream” veterans Sarah Michelle Gellar and Parker Posey have expressed interest in returning to the franchise.
Following Skeet Ulrich’s reappearance in the last two films, Brie remarked, “I’ve heard that many are returning… Hayden [Panettiere] was back for ‘Scream 6.'”
On the podcast, Brie also voiced her concerns with the survival rate in the recent “Scream” movies, specifically regarding the “core four” characters: Sam Carpenter (Melissa Barrera), Tara Carpenter (Jenna Ortega), Chad Meeks-Martin (Mason Gooding), and Mindy Meeks-Martin (Jasmin Savoy Brown), who all survived the last two sequels.
“There are too many survivors,” she commented. “The ‘core four’ need to face more danger. We saw [Jamie Kennedy’s Randy Meeks] die in ‘Scream 2.’ Ideally, only two of the ‘core four’ should remain by ‘Scream 7.'”
Brie also expressed sadness and disagreement over the decision to kill off the original character, Dewey Riley (Arquette), stating it was “very sad” and “a mistake.” She emphasized, “We should keep the main three.”
