A dominating force within the global music industry, Kendrick Lamar has officially made history by winning the Pulitzer Prize in Music for his 2017-released album, ‘DAMN.‘. As announced by them earlier last night, the Compton-raised MC became the first non-classical or jazz artist to receive the award. Described by Pulitzer Prize as “a virtuosic song collection unified by its vernacular authenticity and rhythmic dynamism that offers affecting vignettes capturing the complexity of modern African-American life.”, ‘DAMN.‘ marks K Dot’s fourth studio LP which also won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album earlier this year.
