Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee‘s monstrous hit, ‘Despacito‘ has suffered a major setback. Fresh off becoming the first video on YouTube to cross five billion views, it seems to have been deleted as part of a massive hack. In an unfortunate turn of events, it was initially discovered that the thumbnail of the record setting music video had been altered before being completely wiped off the platform.
As reported by Independent, VEVO accounts of more than a dozen artists including the likes of Shakira, DJ Snake, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift and Drake have also been affected. Additionally, the hackers who are calling themselves Prosox and Kuroi’sh, wrote “Free Palestine” beneath the videos. At the time of publication of this article, the titles of videos posted by Drake (‘God’s Plan‘) and Selena Gomez (‘Wolves‘) have been tampered with.
While we continue to try and gain more clarity on this situation, stay tuned for the latest updates.
