Blindnight Where Is The Fire? EP

Bengaluru-based collective consolidate has been steadily changing the landscape of India’s underground electronic music scene over the past few years now. Having treated us to some memorable works in the past from artists like Aerate Sound, _RHL and more, the rising collective has now served up its 10th release! A debut effort from Blindnight, the musical alias of Suren Makkar has dished out his 7-track EP Where Is The Fire?.

An unique, yet uncannily familiar sonic approach that finds shelter in this weirdly satisfying beat tape, Blindnight invites listeners to his psychedelic world with ‘Everybody Likes To Die Sometimes’, that goes on to gain more clarity with each passing track. Next up is ‘Fever‘ with fellow consolidate affiliate Disco Puppet, which not only sees the two acts strike a perfect balance between their respective contributions, but also craft a vivid masterpiece that only makes us look forward to more from the two.

Ustad Kitty steals the spotlight on ‘Fruity Pie‘, whose smooth lyrical flow effortlessly seams in together his social commentary on beauty culture with Suren’s mystically dark instrumental. A sample-driven collection of works, each of which gets to present itself with its own contrasting identity, the EP scribbles a definitive picture that is guided by his experimental, yet meaningful take on music. As we progress further, ‘Magic Maybe‘ takes us on a spooky, yet adventurous trail before jumping onto ‘Hardproblem‘.
