The wait has finally come to an end. Joel Zimmerman aka deadmau5 who has been fairly busy working on new music ever since his massive production studio finally came to life earlier this year is all set to execute some big moves. Having already warmed up fans to his upcoming full length effort with two new tunes “Snowcone” and “Saved“, Joel also debuted Cube 2.0 at Veld Festival in Toronto to give fans a glimpse of his extensive live show plans.
And now to officially take over the dance music industry once again, the man himself announced the oncoming of his eighth studio album this past weekend. Titled “W:/2016ALBUM“, the brand new LP is slated for an independent release via mau5trap.
Following the announcement, deadmau5 also took to Pete Tong’s BBC Radio One show this past week to premiere the first single from his upcoming LP. A finished version of his earlier teased tune, “4ware“, the stunning new creation echoes his surreal brand of progressive house blended in with a hint of nostalgia.
Talking to the legendary radio host, Joel said, “There’s an 80s sci-fi fantasy film vibe to some of the melodies”. Moreover, he also described about his inspiration for the new track which was a direct outcome of his recent purchase of a Prophet 10.“When you’re drawn to that instrument, you’re drawn to that kind of vibe.”
‘W:/2016ALBUM‘ is set to be released on December 2 via mau5trap. Listen to the full version of “4ware” below.
