KSHMR is a well-known name for his unique EDM sound with Indian/Arabic touch. From a new entry to almost every festival’s main stage, KSHMR’s journey has been quick, just like his frequency of releases. But before starting the KSHMR project in 2014, Niles Hollowell-Dhar was a part of Hip Hop duo, The Cataracts and has a part in producing many hits, including “Like A G6” with Far East Movement.
In an old video of Niles at a producers conference, he explains how the track “Like A G6″ came together. The multi-platinum hit’s infectious bassline was actually an accident when he dropped the MIDI clip to the wrong channel and in Niles’s own words, “And it sold 5 million records.”
Niles underlines that sometimes accidents happen for good and producers should just embrace them when they result in something out of the box. He also mentions that how easy it is to get carried away. Sometimes, less is better when it comes to making music and knowing when to stop is a vital skill.
