Martin Garrix‘s current 4 city India tour with Sunburn Festival saw the World’s No. 1 DJ kickstart the tour with a special charity show in Mumbai. The show, which saw support from the likes of Lost Frequencies, Justin Mylo, Shaan and many more, saw a turnout of more than 40,000 people, and all for a good cause.

Hosted at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse, the charity event’s purpose was to educate Indian children, and the target was met with no problem, with the proceeds from the show being donated to Magic Bus, who will be supporting the education of 10,000 children across the country.

Speaking about the show, Shailendra Singh, Jt. MD of Percept and Inceptor of Sunburn said:

It just shows you how grounded Martin is. Even after becoming world #1, he agreed to take time from his schedule to come to India and donate his performance for  children’s education. He didn’t hesitate to say ‘yes, let’s do this!’. He’s accomplished so much, but this shows you what’s important to him.

We wanted Martin to be able to really feel the impact that he is making for these 10,000 children. The Magic Bus children got to thank him, and Martin got to witness how his one act, can change the lives of so many

Before the show, Martin Garrix joined Shailendra Singh in presenting a donation check to Matthew Spacie, founder of Magic Bus, who said:

We couldn’t be more thankful to Martin Garrix and Shailendra. Through this donation, we will be able to support 10,000 children in communities all across India, in our program. This is the kind of support that is helping to ensure that 99% of our children stay in school and continue on a path to livelihood.
