When it comes to giving an interview, a lot of celebrities take time to learn what to say and what to hold back. EDM’s latest sensation The Chainsmokers, seem to be on the list that needs to learn what to hold back. In a recent interview with The Rolling Stone, Alex Pall and Drew Taggart made remarks about Lady Gaga and Rihanna, arguably the two representatives of the pop industry currently, which have not gone down well with fans.
When asked about the new music coming out of Lady Gaga‘s camp, Pall said “It sucks” while Drew quickly added “She’s a great artist – like, Jeff Koons made a sculpture of her…”
On their hit single “Don’t Let Me Down”, the DJ said that they owed the success to Daya who performed the vocals for the song. They had initially approached Rihanna but she turned down. He went further and remarked “Young unknown artists have this hunger — they’re willing to work really hard.”
Twitterati did not take the comments well and quickly jumped on the #TheChainsmokersAreOverParty hashtag. While many spoke about the number of accolades won by Lady Gaga in comparison to The Chainsmokers, others were directly about the shock the fans were facing.
Despite their rude remarks towards Lady Gaga, she has 6 Grammys, 190 million record sales, sold out tours, etc. #TheChainsmokersAreOverParty
