After the announcement of the debut of Electronic Music Awards by dance music legend Paul Oakenfold, Fox and production company TV4 Entertainment, the categories and their consequent nominees have been revealed.
A wide range of artists have been named as nominees including heavyweights like Carl Cox, Diplo, Calvin Harris and more alongside young talents featuring JAUZ, DJ Snake, Kygo to name a few. The nominations has a few surprises in store with Jack U‘s debut album and their single “Where Are U Now” missing from the Album Of The Year and Single Of The Year categories respectively. The Awards will also acknowledge the contribution of the Best Club Of The Year and Festival Of The Year having entitled them to separate categories. Going into the Best Radio Show segment, BBC Radio 1‘s legendary Essential Mix is in the running alongside Diplo‘s crazy weekend showcase, Diplo & Friends and more.
According to the show’s official press statement, the seven categories each contain five nominations and “reflect dance music trends on a global level bringing together DJs, producers, clubs and brands that represent a wide range of genres,”.
