Taking us on a whirlwind journey this month is the iconic Budweiser Made Stage – that seeks to bring local talent to the fore marking a brand new voyage in cutting edge music fused with immaculate visuals and stellar performances. After a fantastic start at Sitara Studio, Mumbai earlier this month, the Made Stage illuminated Hauz Khaz Social, New Delhi, last week. And now the journey will continue towards Bangalore as the Made Stage seeks to weave its magic onto the good people of Bengaluru! Sulk Station, Abhijeet Tambe (Black Box Project) and Vandana Menon present a two-hour immersive audiovisual performance piece. The basic premise of the show will be to use the  audience and space intelligently to produce a full-fledged interactive concert.

Sulk Station, Bangalore’s premiere electronic band, will takes the stage in a show, that as it unfolds it will reveal objects one-by-one, that will become interfaces that audience members can interact with to control sound, light, and video elements! Sulk Station is also poised to create musical structures, opening space for audience members to create most of the music using the interface objects. Given the previous editions in Mumbai & Delhi, showed equal promise, with the use of multiple projectors and speakers, video cameras, touch sensors, lights, shadow puppets and life size structures that enable 3-D visual mapping, there will be an attempt to create a space that blurs the line between the audience and the performance. The visuals triggered will be mapped all around them on pre built structures. Multiple speakers mapped to particular interfaces add a sense of spatiality to the sounds as they emerge from various points around the venue.

The Made Stage is not just a night featuring musical extravaganza at its finest. Its is a collaboration between musicians, a sound artist, a visual artist, and a sculptor. Using visuals by the way of film footage to set the mood and narrative, the evening will progress into vignettes provided by the Black Box Project and Sulk Station, which will allow the audience to interact and trigger audio and visuals that build on the pre existing story line. Visually it will be a mix of mixed media forms such as animations, photographs, film footage etc. Sonically it will be a mix of synthesized sounds, recorded samples and real instruments.
