The attendees at this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival are in for something special as Doppler Labs‘ ambitious creation, Here earbuds are set to make their debut in the valley. The project which started out as a Kickstarter campaign has achieved more than sufficient funds to take into development stage and is finally scheduled to be out for retail this year.
What’s so special about Here? The revolutionary earbuds will let you control how you hear the environment and is a complex combination of drivers, microphones and speakers that allows you to curate your environment to fit your needs and aural preferences. Not only can you control the volume of the world around you, you can EQ it and even phase out particular sounds, e.g your surroundings. All in all, it is meant for live listening environments and for you to engage with real time sound.
Luckily enough, the people at the West Coast festival giant will be the first people apart from the ones at Kickstarter to purchase the device. According to reports, “attendees will get an email with a purchase offer before Coachella begins and will receive Here in advance to get used to the setup.” Adding to its utility, “there will be optimized stages for Here, with presets attendees can use to listen to music in brand new ways.”
Finally, Doppler Labs aims to have a final consumer product available sometime by the end of the year, in the $200-$300 price range. Till then, you can check out the video below to know more about the Here earbuds.
