Fans of the Underground Music scene, it is time to rejoice! The Border Movement Lounge is coming to New Delhi! Border Movement is a platform that aims to encourage interaction between the electronic music scenes of South Asia and Germany. A common initiative of the Goethe-Institutes in South Asia and a project realised in an alliance with regional partners Wild City. The Border Movement Lounge, focuses on showcasing established and upcoming artists and producers from across South Asia. The lounge is an informal event format that hopes to foster a more open and interactive culture of electronic music performance, as well as a more well-rounded appreciation from the local music community. Each edition of Border Movement Lounge focuses on a different area of the region, partnering acts with local talent. With previous editions of the lounge having taken place in Colombo, this time, the party comes to New Delhi as the focus is on Sri Lanka!
Performing at the famous Hauz Khas Village, will be Sri Lankan stalwart Sunara & Indian supertalent Moniker. Sunara is a DJ and visual artist from Colombo, Sri Lanka, well known on the local underground electronic scene as one of the few DJs in the country who traverses other terrains such as glitch-hop, nu-jazz, hip-hop and funk. With her unique blend of funky and laid-back beats delivered with integrity and style, Sunara has made a name for herself as one of the most creative and entertaining DJs on the local circuit in Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, Editor of Indian magazine and cultural hub ‘The Wild City’, Moniker has a peculiar and varied taste in music. Straddling hip-hop, garage, grime, bass, house and techno, he always brings an informative set. Having been a part of the underground electronic movement in London for a number of years he brings to the table an undeniably fresh sound to his live shows.
