Technics SL-1200 is a reputed name in the DJ gear world which revolutionised the clubs and radio setups. Known for its rugged build and good sound quality, these turntables have a special place in the hearts of turntablists and jockeys. Famous since their dawn in 1972, the company stopped the production of this loved turntable series in 2010. Now, Panasonic has announced at the recent Consumer Electronics Show at Las Vegas that it is bringing back two new 50th anniversary models of SL-1200 series. Technics SL-1200GAE, which will be the limited edition, magnesium-cased 50th Anniversary Grand Class model and the second one is aluminum-cased Grand Class SL-1200G model.
New Technics models feature a newly developed twin-rotor surface-facing direct drive motor. Technics’ new coreless motor is accompanied by a highly sensitive tonearm and three-layered turntable which is sure to give you a great experience playing records and DJing. SL-1200GAE is set to hit the market in the upcoming summer and SL-1200G later this year. There has been no announcement regarding the price but it can be assumed that limited edition model will be priced high with its upper hand inn features and exclusivity.
