It is rightly said that the music that touches the hearts is never forgotten. The legendary electronica act, Faithless announced their retirement in 2009 but their music is still intact in the fans’ hearts and is being brought back to life via a remix album this year, Faithless 2.0, which will also feature reworks of some of Faithless’ biggest track from artists like Eric Prydz, Armin van Buuren, Tiesto, Booka Shade amongst others.
After a remarkable effort by Avicii in remixing the track “Insomnia” – which, unfortunately, didn’t catch the fire it was expected to – the trance and progressive house trio from London, whose history is just as long as Faithless themselves, Above & Beyond, announces their remix for another classic from the same album as “Insomnia”, “Salva Mea“.
If you are an Above & Beyond fan, you must be knowing that they have been playing this “Salva Mea” remix since ABGT 100 at Madison Square Garden, New York and there has been some serious clamor about the release of the remix. After a year of waiting, the track is finally here and it is simply excellent. Starting off with an echoed vocal sample over the dark melody, later joined by the drum beats, hits a hypnotizing breakdown very soon. After the moments of the calm, with the momentary emergence of a distorted synth, the track again catches its native dark melody and progresses with drums. Although the vocals by Dido are missing, the trio has done an excellent job in giving the track a new touch. The never-ending list of the supporters of the track includes the names like Armin van Buuren, Andrew Bayer, Paul van Dyk, Markus Schulz, Giuseppe Ottaviani and many more!
