David Guetta‘s previous collaboration with Black Eyed Peas, ‘I Gotta Feeling‘, was the catalyst behind his mainstream success today. Grammy award, sales of 7 million digital copies, 14 weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, one of the biggest song of the decade amongst many other accolades, the collaboration had hit the jackpot. All of this back in 2009.
Fast forward to 2015, and times have changed. The Black Eyed Peas aren’t what they used to be, and David Guetta‘s been dethroned as the EDM superstar by younger DJs. During his Coachella performance, Guetta invited The Black Eyed Peas, sans Fergie, on stage to preview their latest collaboration, which is most possibly titled ‘This Is Awesome‘. But trust us, nothing is awesome about this collaboration. Repetitive vocals from the group, who keep repeating ‘This Is Awesome’ over and over, with a breakdown which is more on the lines of BEP’s work rather than David Guetta‘s.
We’d pick The LEGO Movie‘s ‘Everything Is Awesome‘ over ‘This Is Awesome’ anyday. Check out the video below, and see for yourself.
