The day had finally arrived. Budweiser Sensation was finally making its highly awaited debut in India, with quite a fascinating lineup, featuring the likes of Mr. White, Lost Frequencies, Axwell, Afrojack and Laidback Luke. With the venue for the power packed night being the ginormous Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad, Budweiser had taken care of everything marvelously, from the stay to a stunning pre-party, an uber cool brunch, and the massive spectacle we were all waiting for with baited breath.

As we still reel from the after effects from last night’s magnum opus, check out some of our favorite moments from Budweiser Sensation.

Impeccable Production

Where do we even start about the production? From the colossal Welcome To The Pleasuredome stage, the stunning lights, the sound (which we must say, was setup incredibly well), the dancers, the fireworks, every little detail and nuance was paid attention to. Welcome To The Pleasuredome was a 360 degree stage, rotating throughout the show, so the crowd could have a view of the DJ’s playing, and boy, It was a sight to witness! Dwarfing the production standards of its counterparts, Budweiser Sensation set a new standard for music festivals in India, and it was something which won’t be matched anytime soon.

Laidback Luke Lending A Bollywood Flavour To His Set

The closing act of the night, Laidback Luke dished out bangers after bangers during his set, be it Hardwell’s ‘Spaceman’, Alesso and Calvin Harris’ ‘Under Control’ or Dillon Francis and DJ Snake’s ‘Get Low’, the Dutch DJ had the crowd transfixed with his set. However, he dropped the biggest surprise of Budweiser Sensation when he played ‘Baby Doll’ and ‘Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan’ back to back in his set, drawing a loud roar from the crowd, who were equally surprised on hearing the tracks.

Axwell Delivering The Set Of The Night At Budweiser Sensation

In the beginning there was house. In the end, there was house, and the in the middle there is Axwell

How true this quote from the Swede himself turned out to be. One of the most loved acts in India, Axwell played the middle slot at Budweiser Sensation, right after Mr. White and Lost Frequencies, and just before Afrojack and Laidback Luke. Kicking off his set with his latest single ‘Barricade’, Axwell made sure the crowd was on its feet throughout his set, as he continued to lay down some proper tunes one after the other. Be it Jack U’s ‘Jungle Bae’, Calvin Harris’ ‘How Deep Is Your Love’, Swedish House Mafia’s ‘One’ and ‘Don’t You Worry Child’ (Oh the memories), or Axwell /\ Ingrosso’s numerous tracks, including ‘Can’t Hold Us Down’, ‘This Time’, ‘Sun Is Shining’ amongst others, we surely were in for a treat. However, the standout moment during Axwell’s set was when he played Eric Prydz’s ‘Opus’, which transcended the entire stadium into a fix, as they swayed to the hypnotic synths of Mr. Prydz.

Budweiser Sensation was one of the most efficient, extremely well organised music festivals we’ve ever been to. Right from the security checks to the entry, everything was smooth. Upon entering the venue, you could see the efforts put in by the Budweiser team in making sure the entire event goes off without any hitches. Ample number of bars, enough food kiosks, and enough security inside and around the stadium made sure that everyone in the crowd had the time of their lives.

A big thank you to the entire team at Budweiser for pulling off a stunning debut edition of Budweiser Sensation, and giving us and dance music fans all around India the finest festival experience we’ve ever had!
