After leading ID&T for 23 years, turning the property into one of the world’s leading global dance music festival brands, with the likes of Tomorrowland, TomorrowWorld, Sensation, Mysteryland, amongst many others. one of its founding members Duncan Stutterheim is calling it quits.
In an interview with Dutch newspaper Volkskrant, he said “We just felt that we grew out. It has to do with the changing music. I’ve always been on the dance floor, always. Now I do not take to the music of Martin Garrix;… I can appreciate it, but I cannot dance to it.”
Talking further about the issue, and mentioning SFX’s acquisition of ID&T in 2013, he said “I’m an entrepreneur at heart. I have been employed for two years, and I found out that that is something completely different. I am 80 percent of my time spent managing people, managing budgets, meetings. SFX deserves the energy I had seven years agoSFX deserves the energy I had seven years ago.”
