
Quite rightly termed as the “The Godfather of House Music” Frankie Knuckles will soon have a movie based on his illustrious works and thus keep his legacy in the forever. From the producers of Barbershop, comes the yet untitled story of Chicago’s boom of house music from Warehouse’s owner Robert Williams and Frankie Knuckles’ perspective.
Chicago club owner Joe Shanahan, nightlife personality Billy Dee, and entertainment attorney Randy Crumpton would also be a part of this venture.This film will hopefully educate fans from around the world about the early stages of the Chicago community like Limelight did.The launch party for this project will take place on the anniversary of Frankie Knuckles’ death (March 31), with a portion of the proceeds going to the Frankie Knuckles Foundation which supports HIV information, testing, and treatment.
