Seven Lions has just broken the silence with the announcement of one of his most blistering works in long time. Entitled as ‘The Throes of Winter’, his new EP is due out on March 3rd via Casablanca Records and marks the first extended release since last year’s ‘Worlds Apart’. Although Jeff gives a brief preview of a single ‘The End’ from the EP, it easily raises the classic Seven Lions melancholy. The track features Haliene whose vocals sync perfectly with his melodic and vocally-driven approach.
I wanted to start making the music more thematic, interesting, and part of something larger. Since artists aren’t releasing proper albums anymore, it makes sense to create something that’s digitally artistic with real cohesion as opposed to tossing out singles and just haphazardly seeing what sticks. This is one big piece instead of a bunch of little slivers. says Jeff.
‘The Throes of Winter’ EP will also include singles like “A Way to Say Goodbye” (feat. Sombear) co-written with Matthew Koma and a dream alliance with Davey Havok of AFI, whom Jeff has been a longtime fan of. Pre-order the EP here and check the trailer with full tracklist below:
