Madeon joins Justin Bieber and Martin Garrix on Billboard’s 21 under 21

There are instances of musicians having started their career at a very early age and later becoming legends of their own field. Billboard’s 21 Under 21 is an annual ranking done for these powerful minors, and perhaps it is the most impressive crop of under-21 stars. There is Pop, Rock, EDM, Hip-hop, Country, K-pop, and many more genres represented here, but more significantly, these 21 artists are with tons of potential on a single list. You might call them kids (because they actually are), but to be true they’re the kids that everyone in music is watching.

We know well of our favorite young EDM superstar Martin Garrix who made it to the prestigious list last year, but this time it is the ‘Technicolor’ and ‘Finale’ maker Hugo Pierre Leclercq better known as Madeon who has entered the list. It was from the kick-starting dam of implausible remixes, including one for Deadmau5?s ‘Raise Your Weapon’ that swiftly called him a wunderkind by fans and artists alike.

A full-blown electronic maestro, Madeon easily represents the top-notch quality layer of the EDM scene at very primary age. Gaining recognition by Billboard together with the likes of Bobby Shmurda, Chief Keef Lorde, Justin Bieber and of course Martin Garrix, as one of Billboard’s 21 under 21 is not at all a trivial triumph. But for a musician with production credits on Lady Gaga’s famous ‘Artpop’ and after opening for her on a world tour, it should be no surprise he’s found himself alongside some of pop’s biggest stars.
