The dance music industry lost one of its finest artists, after Guru Josh passed away at the age of 51. Guru Josh, whose real name was Paul Walden, was one of the most important figures in the growing rave scene in the UK in the 90’s.
Guru Josh, who used to play in a band, Joshua Cries Wolf, made a switch from rock to house after trying ecstasy which “changed his outlook on life”, and decided to explore the burgeoning rave scene, which lead to him releasing his single, ‘Infinity’ which turned out to be the most successful single of his career.
Walden later moved to Ibiza to concentrate on art and promote raves on the island, while also dabbling in 3D glass art and selling it at small exhibitions in New York, Madrid, Paris and Berlin.
Our thoughts go out to Paul Walden’s friends and family.
