For all those of you who couldn’t make their way to Atlanta for TomorrowWorld, do not grieve for we bring to you the best of the fest. The international edition of the Belgian festival, TomorrowWorld is home to thousands of EDM savants and fanatics to experience and merely in its second year since conception has successfully established itself as one of the several festivals to attend as soon as possible! Here are some of the sets that made it big in TomorrowWorld this year.
Kaskade
The American deep house star drove the crowd wild with his set. From summer anthems like Helden’s Gecko vs Duke Dumont’s 100%, Calvin Harris’ C.U.B.A mashed with an Acapella rendition of Armin‘s This Is What It Feels Like to Galantis’ Runaway, Kaskade took only moments to create an aura of euphoria and invincibility for fans to bask in.
Dillon Francis
Dillon Francis isn’t behind when it comes to delivering quality. Whitney Houston’s I Wanna Dance With Somebody and Francis’ remix of W&W’s Bigfoot were only some of the funny man’s weapons of mass carousing. Throwing in some dubstep, courtesy Skrillex and some pop from the legendary Spice Girls, Francis provided a set seething with diversity.
Mat Zo
The British DJ dropped jaws with his impeccable track selection. His set featured the classic, Sandstorm by Darude, Knife Party’s recent release Resistance and his collaboration with Chuck D on Pyramid Scheme. It’s no surprise that this 22 year old is travelling the globe and collaborating with some of the biggest names in EDM, from Porter Robinson to Tiesto. Mat Zo sure keeps his word
This whole genres business is like the Berlin wall, and I’m there with a forklift and a wrecking ball
Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike
This duo never fails to bombard us with energy, does it? With some brilliant mash ups on their set of La Roux and Watermät with Hardwell and W&W, this Belgian electronic duo is sure on a power trip. DVLM is like the month in school after vacation, so much class. Exhilarating in essence, this set is one oozing with zeal and sure makes the resident DJs’ set a noteworthy one.
Bassnectar
Bassnectar already made the news when a man popped the question to his girlfriend to marry him during their set. However the set quality of the drum and bass star is all the more reason for him to acquire recognition. The American DJ dropped some epic beats and crazy synths to accompany his edgy basslines and immediately made his refined set one to hit repeat to.
Diplo
Diplo is a fan favourite, and for all the right reasons! Taking on the Mad Decent Stage on 27th, Diplo featured some great moombah, trap and hip-hop vibes on his set. The genius behind Major Lazer and one half of Jack U, Diplo had the whole crowd jumping to his energy packed track selection. 2014 seems to be his year as he takes over the hearts of fans and does so smoothly with his great music. Dr.Dre, 2Chainz and French Montana were only some of the names to make it on this DJ’s epic set.
Martin Garrix
This young gun surprised us with his set. With a Botnek remix of the track that earned him his fame – Animals, and several summer anthems and cross-genre mixes like Sultan & Ned Shepard‘s rework of Bruno Mars‘ Locked Out of Heaven and his own collaboration with Sander Van Doorn, DVBBS and Aleesia on Gold Skies, Garrix played a potpourri of electro and progressive.
Tchami
This Frenchman’s set is a unique one. Don Diablo, Martin Garrix and Malente are only some of the big names on this deep house producer’s tracklist.
