Anybody with even a transient level of awareness in electronic music will be familiar of the name Knife Party by now. But just in case you missed out some of the essential and cool stuff from their journey, we’ve got you covered now. In an extremely short time-span since the enigmatic duo Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen developed, their remarkable style and vicious productions have driven their swift climb through dance music’s ranks, from an unknown entity to dance floor winning act leaders, and festival headliners.
The artistic duo of Knife Party released their debut EP ‘100% No Modern Talking’ as a free download in December 2011, and is known to have racked up over 50,000 downloads in less than 12 hours on the very first day. The electro house and dubstep album featured their hit single ‘Internet Friends’ along with ‘Destroy Them With Lazers’, ‘Tourniquet’ and ‘Fire Hive’ and managed to fetch them unprecedented support from fans and artists around the world.
By now the EP has attained over 1 million downloads worldwide and despite being available for free, broke into the iTunes top ten charts in both the UK, US and Australia and also jumped to #1 in the Beatport releases chart.
