EDC SNAPCHAT

Possibly what could be one of the most successful partnerships of 2014, we’ve just learnt Insomniac Events (curator of Electric Daisy Carnival) has tied up with the immensely popular app Snapchat to provide free Wi-Fi to all those attending this year’s edition of EDC Las Vegas. The purpose of this tie up is to deliver lightning speed and reliable services to all those attending, in order to connect better with your raver buddies.

Keeping up with this immense collaboration, Snapchat has introduced a new feature titled “Our Story“, a curated feed that will allow people who are attending the same event upload photos and videos into a central story. If you’re familiar with the app, this is quite similar to the “My Story” feed that was introduced last year. The main point of difference though is, “Our Story” would encapsulate and connect people who aren’t necessarily friends on the app.

All snapchats loaded onto the specific EDC story stream will be free for anyone to browse through, regardless of whether they’re attending or not, so that’s great news for all of us dance music enthusiasts around the world!

Insomniac CEO Pasquale Rotella says,

“Traditionally, Wi-Fi services at large-capacity festivals have been unreliable, and so I’m happy that Snapchat has stepped in and will provide a service which allows fans to use both our services in a fun and engaging way. If it’s successful, and can be done without increasing the cost to our fans, we may look at expanding its reach during future events.”

Both these apps are available for free downloads through Google Play and the Apple Store for Android and IOS devices. The updated Insomniac app has also been launched with new EDC, Las Vegas material.
