Red hot producer Kygo has been in sparkling form ever since his string of magical releases and remixes earlier this year. Having already been invited by reputed producer Diplo to do a guest mix for his prestigious BBC Radio 1Xtra, where he was described as 100% original, he also revealed how he had been commissioned to remix Coldplay‘s magical and anthemic ‘Midnight‘. Kygo’s authentic and unique interpretation was aired on Pete Tong‘s legendary BBC Radio One show recently, and we have to admit…its perhaps the most versatile take on the track we’ve heard yet!
The track kicks off with a downtempo breakbeat drum loop, with a ringing synth groove that infuses a naughty groovy signature with intense percussion work. The vocals by Chris Martin are inter-spaced with the original stepping melody with additional FX added in the backrop. The break brings us back to the impressive percussive line infused with additional counter melodies that compliment the mystifying effects of ‘Midnight‘. The track is as unique and impressive as most of Kygo‘s works and his dynamic capability at remixing the giants that are Coldplay, one can verify the awesome talent that this young Norwegian sensation possesses.
