Here’s some welcome news for Dance music purists! Shazam – the music app that helps identify music, is now no longer confined to digitally released tracks. A partnership with UK based Dance music online retails store Juno Records, will result in the addition of thousands of Vinyl-only dance tracks on the music app’s database!
Despite a majority of DJs, producers, clubs and dancefloors around the world incorporating digital releases on their shows and sets, the music app has identified the need to address the audiences who visit nightclubs with DJs playing a classic Vinyl collection. Dance music purists will enjoy that the original art of DJing has been taken into consideration, as Juno pointed out that Sales increase on Vinyl have improved by 20% since last year stating that “Vinyl music is seeing a resurgence in the industry, with sales at their highest for 15 years.” Interestingly, some new music is often first released on vinyl before going digital, which would imply that Shazam users would be able to discover the music and purchase it from Juno before it even releases digitally! Time to go classic folks!
