One of the principal Anjunabeats unearthings is certainly London-based ilan Bluestone. After finding himself, the informal star of the 50th episode of Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy Radio Show, Ilan is worth the round of applause. Though his Ally Pally smash ‘Spheres’ earned the peculiarity of first Anjunabeats release of 2014, his subsequent formerly unreleased composition ‘Big Ben’ is now having its day with Ilan enduring to make himself one of the most artistic producers on the scene.
Treading out across Alexandra Palace during ABGT050 celebrations, ‘Big Ben’ that comes first in the EP is ilan’s most progressive track to date. It comprises of those groovy housey beats, reverberating basslines and nice synthy lead and euphoric rhythm to take you right away with it. The breakdown is simply awe-inspiring with Gregorian style vocals, bell sounds and a variety of gripping melodies that steadily lift you from the ground.
Living up to its name in classically ecstatic style, ‘Elysian’ carries all the mark traits of a Bluestone anthem with a distinctive and quite belligerent bassline as groundwork while various pulsating melodies are added to it as well. A poignant faltering lead, rich piano progression and unyielding pace form the basis for yet-another peak time floor filler.
A tried and tested weapon in ilan’s DJ sets over the last year, ‘Waves of L.A’ completes the EP in duly uplifting manner. Spilling over with naturally gutsy arps and pouring melodies, this production of his pitches you into a vortex of feel good vibes. The main part is composed with electro infused basslines and the breakdown is where all the goodness of the track is concealed.
