Last year may have been a big year for Daft Punk however, 2014 is already shaping up to be just as successful and eventful. After winning a total of 5 awards including ‘Album of the Year’ and ‘Record of the Year’ at the Grammys, Daft Punk also went on to perform with music superheroes Nile Rodgers, Pharrell Williams and Stevie Wonder.

Not losing any steam, just recently, it was announced on their collaborator Giorgio Moroder‘s Facebook page that the iconic duo’s recent album, Random Access Memories has now achieved yet another milestone and has been certified ‘Platinum’. It goes without saying that after their achievements and popularity over the past 12 months, this announcement may not come as a surprise. “Random Access Memories” was released after a hefty marketing campaign which generated a lot of hype. The new sound though divided the fan base, as people searching for a sequel to their prior album, “Discovery” were left a tad bit disappointed.

However, that didn’t stop the majority of the fans from enjoying each & every minute of the album, with some people eventually changing their opinions after their initial reaction. With “Random Access Memories” Daft Punk truly indulged themselves by recreating the sounds they’ve come to admire so much. For this the legendary twosome brought together the likes of Nile Rodgers, Panda Bear and of course Giorgio Moroder and instead of sampling and using their old music, Daft Punk decided to work with them and create new & innovative music.

We all know, Daft Punk have always done their own thing regardless of what the general norm is or what others are doing and this belligerent attitude surely has something of the spirit of the bots. We’d like to congratulate the duo on yet another achievement & look forward eagerly to music they plan to put out in the future!
