The biggest and most reputed music chart in the world, Billboard has revealed it’s top 100 Most Powerful, on The 2014 Billboard Power 100 list. It defines power as “the ability to reshape the world around you according to your vision” and the 100 spots occupied on the list are by people who are “exerting a powerful influence on the music business, and popular culture at large.”
Amongst the prestigious rankings, there are also those that are highly regarded in the electronic music industry. With electronic music making it’s way from the underground, to a strong foothold in today’s pop culture, three of Dance Music’s major players have found their way on the list.
Holding the highest position of any dance influencer is the owner of Industry bigwig, SFX Entertainment, Robert Sillerman, sitting at number 52. (Note, however, Martin Garrix has recently become the first DJ to sign with Scooter Braun, who ranks at 33.)
A few spots later is the face of Insomniac, also the founder of Electric Daisy Carnival, and the man who always loves the fans. Pasquale Rotella comes in at 72, with a well-deserved honor for instilling an unprecedented formula upon the festival industry.
At 93, Tom Windish, founder of Windish Agency flaunts a roster of over 700 clients, 270 of which had been signed last year, as cited by Billboard. Windish’s grasp on DJ clientele is one to marvel at, as among the never-ending list of talent comes dozens upon dozens of electronic performers.
