LIVE Viacom18, one of India’s biggest media firms, and their ambitious music festival titled Vh1 Supersonic which is to hit Candolim, Goa later this month, has suffered a major speed-bump along the way. Our sources tell us that, just a couple of hours ago, the Bombay High Court has passed an order asking the organizers to refile their applications prior to re-seeking permission from State Level Permission Committee of Goa.
Percept Limited, who are organizing the prestigious Sunburn festival in Goa later this month, had filed a complaint with the Judiciary body with a claim of Copyright Infringement over the presentation style of the LIVE Viacom18 event. After hearing both sides of the story, the High Court has passed a judgement today, in favor of Percept, stating that LIVE Viacom18 must “file a fresh application for holding the Supersonic Event during 26th December to 30th December, 2013 at Candolim Beach, Goa without using the literary and artistic work contained in the presentation“, thus affirming the claim of the former.

We are awaiting official confirmation from both parties over this case and will update our readers soon.
