Returning to India for the second time in less than a year with a stack of new releases, Hardwell showed us why he’s one of the biggest names in the electronic music industry. He brought down his ‘I Am Hardwell’ tour to Sunburn Arena in Bangalore & Mumbai last weekend with Dannic and boy, was it amazing! The tremendous energy and jaw dropping sets proved to us yet again why Hardwell is synonymous with excellence. His 3 hour long set as well as his label mate Dannic’s 2 hour set kept everyone pumped and on their feet from start to finish.

Here is our pick of the Top 10 tracks played during Hardwell’s ‘I Am Hardwell’ Tour of India:

1. Hardwell & Dannic – Kontiki

‘Kontiki,’ a Revealed Recordings release, is one of the best collaborations on the label. Back in April of 2012, Dannic proved to everyone that he was on the right path with the best mentor he could have asked for. In Mumbai, Hardwell called on Dannic, asking him to join him on stage when he dropped this big room track which pulsated through the nerves of everyone at the venue.

2. Above & Beyond – Sun & Moon

Above & Beyond’s ‘Sun & Moon’ was perfectly synced with the weather. That moment when you hear the lyrics ‘It’s raining, it’s pouring’ and it actually is, is just inexplicable. Hardwell played the track as a mashup with Henry Fong & Toby Green’s ‘Revival’.

3. Hardwell & Dyro feat. Heather Bright – Never Say Goodbye

Though Dyro was not a part of the ‘I Am Hardwell’ India Tour, his presence was surely felt when Hardwell dropped their banger of a collaboration, ‘Never Say Goodbye’.

4. Axwell & Sick Individuals feat. Taylr Renee – I Am

All the member’s of the highly regarded trio Swedish House Mafia have outdone themselves as individual artists after the mega group split earlier this year. Axwell for one, has not only paid attention to his record label but is also flying high with his solo career especially with his latest release, a collaboration with Sick Individuals, ‘I Am’.

 

5. Nicky Romero & NERVO – Like Home (Dannic Remix)

Dannic’s remix of Nicky Romero & NERVO’s, “Like Home” ended his top notch set. The vocal hook of the track and the melodic beats was a magnificent way to end his set on his first ever tour of India!

6.  Blasterjaxx – Fifteen (Hardwell Edit)

Hardwell reworked Blasterjaxx’s track ‘Fifteen’ just in time for the festival season and it has gained support from many of their peers, the most infectious beats proceed after the heavy drop. Already the Beatport chart topper, the track left many in the crowd stunned and how!

7.  Hardwell & MAKJ – Countdown 

‘Countdown’ was premiered at Ultra Music Festival this year in Miami and got a superb response. As was expected, it received a massive response in India during Hardwell’s ‘I Am Hardwell’ India Tour as it did during UMF!

8. Dannic – Clobber

Since its release, ‘Clobber’ has been one of our favourite tracks by Dannic and is perfect for large outdoor gigs. To have heard Dannic himself drop it was a real thrill for us at The Bangin Beats. The track has a natural effect, drawing people closer to the stage, giving them no reason to leave.

9. Krewella – Alive (Hardwell Remix)

Krewella’s ‘Alive’ is one of the biggest hits this year. The track played a key role in propelling Krewella into the major league and has been played by many DJs who have toured India this year. The build up transforms the track yet it’s melody is retained by the noteworthy Jahan & Yasmines vocals.

10. Florence & The Machine vs. Dada Life – Sometimes I Just Wanna Say My Name (Dannic Mashup)

This mashup is one of Dannic’s finest. The energy in both the tracks beams right through and the beats together create a stunning soundscape, illuminating the vast space of an outdoor arena gig.
