Flashback: Eric Prydz – Lesson One

Human+Behaviour++Lesson+one

Eric Prydz/Pryda/Cirez D/Moo, does not matter what the monicker may be, the end product is always a treat to the ears. For those of you unaware of the monster track from 2004, go down to the YouTube link to listen to ‘Lesson One’, part of an LP released back then along with ‘Human Behaviour’; and like all other productions by Messrs Prydz, what a record it was!

The benchmark of quality is set by some. But a true legend sets that bar by himself and then repeatedly badgers it to pulp by himself. ‘Lesson One’ is a track that transports you back into those days when House music had not yet become a dough spinner, and concerts were still an underground affair. The soulful sound of the yesteryears with pleasurable input from different channels (something of a regular with Mr. Prydz), is what this track is all about. What initially starts off like a sample from an old video game, transforms into the characteristic wave of melody that is the trademark of the boss.

Released anew on the 3 disc release ‘Eric Prydz Presents Pryda’, ‘Lesson One’ is a deep, dark journey into the mechanics of sound production, encompassing melody, groove, and the ‘take-me-away’ vibe that comes with good music. A characteristic melody that repeatedly harps on in the background while the beat progresses is something that’ll bring a smile to your face (provided you have a good pair of headphones/speakers). Trust us when we say, DO NOT download this off some website, but get it in 320 kbps goodness or better still, in FLAC. And if you’re the kind of audiophile that Team Bangin really looks up to, get the vinyl and have your mind blown.

Make space for this for when you play it loud, you’re definitely going to dance!
