The Loss Of Peter Rauhofer Is Rippling Across The Dance Community

The mastermind producer, Grammy-nomanee, a prominent member of New York night life, and a Dj who has played for celebrities such as Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, Madonna, and Cher , Peter Rauhofer will no longer take the decks but his production will remain immortal. The Austrian Dj had been suffering brain cancer and ended his battle yesterday.

Rauhofer had the ability to give each song an entirely new boost while still holding onto the original track. That’s not an easy task. His remixes of “Beautiful” by Christina Aguilera, “Nothing Really Matters” by Madonna, “17 Again” by the Eurythmics and “Strong Enough” by Cher exploaded thourgh the US Billboard chart.

His manager Angelo Russo wrote in an obituary post on Fb stating :

Dear Friends and Loyal Fans,

As Peter Rauhofer’s manager and dear friend for many years, it is my sad duty to announce that Peter was rushed to the emergency room several weeks ago. After confirming that Peter had a seizure, further testing has revealed a large brain tumor, something that has gone undiagnosed for quite some time.

At this time, Peter’s family is working closely with a team of talented Neurologists to determine the overall best treatment option. Please be assured that he is getting the absolute finest care possible, twenty-four hours a day.

I know Peter would appreciate your kind consideration and positive energy during this extremely difficult period. We will post any updates and progress reports as they become available.

Feel free to post your condolences as well as check into this page for updates.

Sincerely,
Angelo”

“Peter Rauhofer was an innovative and gifted DJ, producer and remixer,” said Recording Academy President/CEO Neil Portnow. “His impact on EDM will continue to inspire music lovers and keep them dancing.”

Very sad day indeed,” Carl Cox wrote on Rauhofer’s Facebook.
