Sunburn has raised the bar in delivering the best global EDM experience there is to offer and re-shaped the entire music scene in India. Over the past twelve months, Sunburn has brought down five of the top 10 DJ’s to India, including – David Guetta, Afrojack, Swedish House Mafia,Armin Van Burren, Paul Van Dyke, Fedde Le Grand and Tiësto. The brand has introduced a number of different formats such as Sunburn festival, Sunburn Club, Sunburn Arena and Sunburn Campus Tours to reach out to young EDM fans across the country.

The massive success of this festival year was globally acknowledged. Sunburn was ranked #4 in the world (inthemix), cementing its position as Asia’s biggest LIVE experience brand. And Shailendra Singh – Joint Managing Director, Percept Limited and Inceptor, Sunburn – became the first Indian to be listed in the prestigious “50 Most Powerful people in EDM 2013”! This global ranking (inthemix) is referred to as the “Power 50”, and Shailendra shares company with the biggest names in the EDM industry. Brand unburn witnessed over 250,000 people who cumulatively attended all the outdoor events in the past 6 months, boasts a 300% growth on the online following, and has hosted over 270 artists to perform across all of its projects. Sunburn is fast putting India on the map as a global music tourism destination.

To celebrate the success of 2012-2013 Sunburn’ites came together on Sunday to applaud and appreciate the efforts and the hardwork that each and everyone put in to make it a stellar season. There were many ups and downs this season, but together, Sunburn’ites ultimately re-shaped the entire music scene in India. Sunday saw a full house of Sunburn’ites celebrating their successes, reflecting on the season that just passed, and recognizing those members of the team who excelled & out-performed this season.

Celebrities like Kapil Dev, Varun Dhawan, Suchitra Pillai, Queenie Dhody, Rashmi Nigam, Rocky S., Radhakrishna Nair, among others were invited to present awards and felicitate those team members who out did themselves making Sunburn the brand it is today. Mr. Kapil Dev, when asked for his experience of Sunburn said, “this is something different, it’s a flier; I saw the crowd dancing in Sunburn Noida from the terrace of my office and that’s when I told Shailendra that he should put his foot on the pedal on this one. Making magic happen for tens of thousands of India’s youth is pure inspiration”.

The final award of the evening was presented to the ‘Star performer’ by Varun Dhawan, who is a big fan of Sunburn himself. When asked for his Sunburn experience he actually stood on his head, upside down and said “Sunburn is so crazy that it turns my world upside down!”

“When I was studying in the UK all my friends had some or the other festival to boast about, Sunburn is my answer to them and I am even more proud that this is an Indian product that has made it globally.” He concluded saying “I have seen many awards ceremonies and out of all of them, this award ceremony has been the most entertaining I have ever witnessed”.

The next season of Sunburn promises to be even bigger with the brand further expanding its footprint in other parts of the country & across the globe to Singapore & Indonesia in 2013-14.
