Henrix – Rock This Dream EP

This Miami superstar isn’t stopping at anything. 2012 being a prime year for Henrix, with his track ‘Hit It’ getting support from Swedish House Mafia for their One Last Tour, Henrix has only been climbing the ladder ever since. Named as one of the 2013 Artists to look out for, Henrix has upped his game and released his brand new EP.

Rock This Dream is a very experimental EP to say the least. The EP consists of 4 tracks, each different than the other. We start off with the first title track, which is Rock This Dream, which includes vocals from Roland Clark (and an instrumental version), although vocals may albeit be a varied term to use, you’ll understand when you hit play. The track features the composition of Lux Aeterna by Clint Mansell, which was featured in the movie Requiem for a Dream, perhaps the most well known epic composition known to the mainstream. Henrix manages to use that composition to turn it in his favor and create a building hype to the awaited drop. The drop has a very electric metal feel to it, and as Henrix’s signature, is a percussion based drop. We think this track is different from what you’d expect, but we love such musical experiments that toy with us.

The next track, ‘Viral’, has a very James Bond feel to it. The drop mainly consists of that, but the break up takes us somewhere else. Henrix isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty on this track, as he blends two different progressions into one mixed track that has a drop that delivers.

His last track, ‘Losing My Mind’, stands out from the rest. This track is a very happy, uplifting track, sending out good vibes across that make you want to jump. It features vocals from Gieuseppe Viola, very mild and soothing lyrics, with some big room synths. We expect this track to chart exceedingly well!

The album is out on Mixmash records, owned by Laidback Luke. You can check out the whole EP here:
