One of the most innovative names in the electronic music industry has to be deadmau5! Having remained at the forefront of the scene for more than a decade, Joel Zimmerman continues to catch us by surprise with his forward thinking creations and surreal live performances. And come March 30, the Canadian virtuoso will join an elite list of artists who have released orchestral renditions of their original works.

As announced by TIDAL and deadmau5 earlier this week, the mau5trap boss is all set to unveil his brand new album “where’s the drop?” which would consist of 17 orchestral songs that were brought to life by famed composer Gregory Reveret and Joel himself. Having teased his ambitious project for a while now, he will be joined by a full orchestra to perform the music live at The Wiltern in Los Angeles on March 31 and April 1.

where’s the drop?” originally began as a project called 7, a series of songs that deadmau5 produced in 2014 which was based around the Seven Deadly Sins and one that he desired to produce on a full orchestral scale. Upon meeting Reveret during his famous ‘mau5trap Mondays‘ Twitch session, he found someone that could properly score the music for an orchestra to execute. With the special show set to be live streamed via TIDAL on April 1, head towards here to learn more about the orchestral show.
