Steve Aoki cuts a divisive figure in the electronic music scene. While the American DJ/producer enjoys a loyal following, there is a section of people who fail to be impressed by Aoki and his music. Having arrived into 2017 on the back of a rather strong 2016, Steve has already released one single, ‘Alive‘, and has now previewed his remix for the theme of ‘Ghost In The Shell‘, the legendary anime film.
Taking the bass route, Aoki delivers a cutting edge remix of the theme song, matching up to the intensity of the film. While the film is set for a 31st March release, there’s no official word whether the remix will see a release or not.
Big day & proud moment to team up w/ @ghostinshell to produce the official rmx to Utai IV's Reawakening & have it scored in the commercial! pic.twitter.com/4Pvfyw4FyM

However, soon after Aoki posted the snippet of his remix on his social media, a number of fans weren’t happy with his spin on the classic theme.
@steveaoki @GhostInShell Well that's one way to ruin an iconic theme…
