Dyro Discusses Collaboration With Martin Garrix, State of Dance Music And More In New Interview

Dutch wunderkind Dyro has grown from Hardwell’s protege to one of dance music’s finest producer. With numerous hits under his belt, the DJ and producer now has his own record label WOLV, which has been churning out some great music over the months.

In a recent interview with Billboard, Dyro discusses the rumours about his collaboration with Martin Garrix, his record label, the state of dance music and much more.

Speaking about his rumoured collaboration with fellow Dutchman Martin Garrix, Dyro confirms its nothing more than Internet trolling.

I think as much as we like to hang out, our styles are a little bit too different to do something.

He however adds that they’ve both helped each other while producing tracks, including an Egyptian influenced melody on a new track Dyro’s working on.

Talking about dance music, and the state of the genre, Dyro believes dubstep is making a comeback, while the cliched “EDM” sound is outdated, and on it’s way out.

The hard kick drum and basic melodies on top, yes, that’s definitely over. It’s boring as hell and nobody cares anymore. Right now we’re at the point where there’s a lot of original stuff being released, and that also gives the opportunity for new artists to build their careers on top of that.
