In what might come as a surprise to many, popular social network app, Instagram, has banned the hashtag EDM from its platform.
Having also recently blocked the hashtag #Curvy, with the official statement on the block being “We block (i.e. make unsearchable) certain hashtags when they are consistently being used to share images and videos that violate our Community Guidelines. In this case, #curvy was being used to share content that violates our guidelines around nudity.”, the block on #EDM comes as a big surprise, as it’s hard to imagine something malicious being used to share with the aforementioned hashtag.

There hasn’t been any official statement from Instagram regarding the block on #EDM.
