Every time I begin a write up to do anything with this man I run out of superlatives to describe him. The reason? He never ceases to surprise me and take true music creation to a whole new level that hasn’t been explored by other artists. Who is the legend in question? None other than the worlds favourite Swede – no, not Victoria Sylvstedt – Eric Prydz!
Fresh from the commercial success of his hit tune ‘Generate’, Eric Prydz graced his loyal followers with an hour long (why wont they ever give him a marathon set?) set at this years edition of EDC Las Vegas. And in ‘Epic’ fashion Pryda (as loving fans call him) uploaded his set for everyone to enjoy and download for free wherever they be. In typical Pryda fashion the set begins with a fresh tune as opposed to similar starts other DJs usually use. A dark and delicious remix of ‘Generate’ akin to a Cirez-D theme of dark electric techno to inform the crowd “today you guys are in for something special”; and boy were they! As if his Ultra set earlier this year wasn’t fresh and magnificent enough, with beautiful bits of trance infused mind you, followed by his EDC, New York set, which I’m 100% confident no one can stand still while listening to it; Eric’s EDC, Las Vegas set reached a whole new level of breathtaking genius! So much so that EDC attendees – and non-attendees alike – were brought to tears by the utter brilliance of one man and his gift to the world of music. I’ve recommended many sets and tunes that one shouldn’t miss but this set is one even God himself shouldn’t miss out on. Check it out below:
