For those of us who’ve attended any of Above & Beyond’s live shows recently, including their recent tour of India, we’ve already heard Above & Beyond’s collaboration with Alex Vargas, one of the singers off their acoustic project. The track, Sticky Fingers, was first unleashed to the general audience during their legendary ABGT050 show at the Alexandra Palace in London and the phrase along with that resonating melody has been on the mind of trance family members everywhere ever since.

The production a fine example of the new Trance 2.0 direction the trio have taken up. It starts off with hard hitting synth stab melodies for a bassline, and a pitch modulated synth melody, which then breaks down to an ethereal piano melody that backs Alex Vargas’ fine vocals. The lyrics, as is commonplace with almost every Above & Beyond production, is simply moving and heavily emotional. It then progresses to a massive build up, with piano work slowly fading out giving way to an uplifting synth melody based on a euphoric chord progression. They’ve made this song equally emotional as it is driving and gritty.
