Yaya Bey Announces Tour and New Album Do It Afraid, Shares New Songs: Listen

Just one year after the debut of Ten Fold, Yaya Bey, the singer-songwriter from Brooklyn, is set to release a new album titled Do It Afraid, which will be available on June 20 through Drink Sum Wtr. This rapid release follows with fresh singles including “Dream Girl” and “Wake Up B*tch,” with “Dream Girl” also featuring a music video. Both tracks are available for listening below.

The album Do It Afraid marks a shift towards more dance-oriented music in Yaya Bey’s body of work. This new direction was hinted at in her earlier single “Merlot and Grigio,” which includes Father Philis. The album boasts collaborations with various artists such as rapper and songwriter Rahrah Gabor, producer Exactly, jazz group Butcher Brown, and vocalist and keyboard player Nigel Hall.

Following the album’s release, Yaya Bey will embark on a headlining tour across the United States. After performing at the Governors Ball Music Festival, she will visit cities such as Philadelphia, Boston, Atlanta, Chicago, Seattle, among others, concluding the brief tour on September 27 in Los Angeles. Below is a complete schedule of her tour dates.
