Lego has introduced a new addition to its Lord of the Rings collection, specifically for the Lego Insiders who now have early access to purchase it. The latest set, titled Lord of the Rings: The Shire, comprises 2,017 pieces designed to meticulously recreate the charming Hobbit homeland. As part of a special promotion for this release, priced at $270, Lego is offering a complimentary Lord of the Rings set worth $25, available until April 8 or until supplies last. Those interested in securing this free item should consider joining Lego’s no-cost rewards program, which allows early access to the new set before it becomes available to the broader public on April 5.
### Complimentary Gift Details
As a bonus for the early birds, Lego Insiders will receive an additional small set that portrays one of the more somber scenes from the film series. This bonus is a 181-piece kit that captures the moment Smeagol and Deagol stumble upon the long-lost One Ring.
### Recent and Upcoming Releases
It’s been about a decade since most of Lego’s original Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit series sets were discontinued. However, in the past two years, fans have seen the release of several large-scale sets under the Lego Icons line. One of the more notable recent releases is a towering model of Sauron’s fortress, Barad-dur. This set includes 5,471 pieces and, once assembled, stands at an impressive height of 32.5 inches. Retailing at $460, the model features intricate designs including a light-up Eye of Sauron and various detailed internal features spread across five levels, such as Sauron’s throne room with a hidden passage, Gollum’s lair, an Orc prison, and much more. The spacious tower also accommodates 10 minifigures.
For those with a preference for less sinister themes, Lego also offers a massive 6,167-piece model of Rivendell. This expansive set costs $500 and brings to life the elaborate Elvish architecture. Once completed, this sizable model measures 28.5 inches in width, 19.5 inches in depth, and 15 inches in height. It also includes 15 minifigures, which allows fans to recreate the iconic scene of the formation of the Fellowship of the Ring.
### Additional Lord of the Rings Content
Fans of the franchise can also look forward to the upcoming Limited Edition Steelbook 4K Blu-ray releases of Peter Jackson’s acclaimed adaptations of J.R.R. Tolkien’s classics.
