Mat Zo & Porter Robinson – Easy (Remixes)
Porter Robinson and Mat Zo are two of the fastest-rising young producers around. Their collaboration on the smash hit “Easy” has been received with widespread acclaim by dance music fans and critics alike since it’s release in January, earlier this year.
Now, we’re being treated to the release of the Remixes, with smashing remixes by the likes of Andy C, Botnek, Lemâitre and Modek.
Easy (Andy C Remix)
British Drum and Bass bigwig, Andy C has added his own touch to give “Easy” an extremely bass-heavy thumping avatar. Totally re-arranging all of the original elements apart from sampling the piano riff and hints of the vocals. Till he breaks into a complextro/electro bridge, before bringing you back to the hard hitting drum and bass beats that started off this version.
Easy (Lemâitre Remix)
Norwegian duo Ulrik and Ketil, otherwise known as Lemâitre, have added their signature disco/funk sound to the track. Not changing the original’s vocals too much, apart from chopping it up a little, they’ve made it a brilliant electro-funk production, by adding a guitar riff and funk bass line, and slowing the tempo down a few notches. A very groovy version, this one is. Wonderful for easy listening.
Easy (Botnek Remix)
Canadian House duo, Botnek have presented Easy with a much harder perspective. Right from the start, the original Easy drops to give listeners a hard “rage” infused House bassline emphasized by low pitched Saw sounds and just about flirting with fractional samples of the vocals. At the bridge, it has been given an almost Arena feel. All in all, if you’re at a music festival, or you’d like to imagine you are, then you’d definitely like this version of the track.
Easy (Modek Bright As Day Remix)
Belgian Producer Modek‘s version of Easy has a very chilled out,” sip-on-your-mai-tai-while-the-sun-goes-down” feel. Very appropriate for a lounge or a sundown party, this one’s bouncy enough to get you into the groove, but still calm enough to ensure easy listening. Featuring the original’s chord progression and riff, at a higher pitch, it progressively builds up to the melody with no sudden drops to scare you.
