Sinking City 2 Returns: Watch the Thrilling New Trailer & Join the Crowdfunding Effort!

Emerging from the depths after a quiet period, The Sinking City 2 has recently unveiled a new trailer and kicked off its official Kickstarter campaign.

A year following its initial revelation, The Sinking City 2’s latest trailer offers a glimpse into the pre-alpha stage of the game, prominently featuring Lovecraftian horror elements. This is in line with Frogwares’ distinct approach which integrates survival and investigative elements into gameplay. Furthermore, the development team has released an in-depth insight into their plans regarding combat mechanics, exploration, and optional investigative challenges.

In conjunction with the trailer releases, Frogwares has initiated a Kickstarter campaign to support the final stages of the game’s development. Wael Amr, the CEO of Frogwares, commented on the necessity of this crowdfunding effort, attributing it to the prolonged conflict in Ukraine:

“After enduring three years of this dreadful war, we’ve adapted, though it’s been far from easy. In 2023, the release of Sherlock Holmes The Awakened, supported by Kickstarter and our dedicated fans, provided a crucial safety net. This support helped us manage unexpected challenges—from power outages and the urgent relocation of team members to temporary halts in development. Given the complexity and scope of The Sinking City 2, we’ve opted for a similar fundraising approach.”

Frogwares has navigated numerous hurdles in its history, working on the original The Sinking City and its sequel amidst the difficulties of wartime game development. Additionally, a legal battle over the publishing rights with Nacon, the original PC publisher of the first game, led to its removal from certain platforms in 2020. Thankfully, Frogwares secured full publishing rights last year and resolved these disputes.

The crowdfunding campaign for The Sinking City 2 is currently active, targeting a goal of $105,000 USD.
