Saw 4K Steelbook Editions With Awesome Designs Are Up For Preorder At Amazon

Devotees of the chilling and enduring Saw series will be thrilled to know that they can soon experience the intense ordeals of Jigsaw’s participants in stunning 4K resolution. The second, third, and fourth installments of the Saw movies are set to debut on 4K Blu-ray on October 21, presented in Amazon-exclusive Steelbook Editions. Each is available for preorder at a price of $35 on Amazon.

  • Saw II Steelbook Edition — $35
  • Saw III Steelbook Edition — $35
  • Saw IV Steelbook Edition — $35

Each of these Limited Edition Steelbooks is encased in a transparent O-ring sleeve. The O-ring sleeve isn’t merely a duplication of the cover art; it features well-placed graphics that cleverly change the appearance of the character depicted on the front cover. This allows enthusiasts to alternate between two distinct cover displays for each film.

Saw IV Limited Edition Steelbook (4K Blu-ray) | Amazon Exclusive

All three films in this Saw release include 4K Blu-ray, regular Blu-ray, and digital copies compatible with Movies Anywhere. The 4K discs are enhanced with Dolby Vision and HDR10 technologies. Viewers can expect to be enveloped in Dolby Atmos surround sound, which will amplify the eerie ambiance with its sharp acoustics, from the chilling screams to the sounds of ticking mechanisms. Additionally, these editions come packed with several new bonus features alongside a generous selection of existing supplementary content. Below are the visuals of the impressive packaging.

Available Saw Movies in 4K Blu-ray

Saw Unrated Edition (4K Blu-ray) / Saw X (4K Blu-ray)

While a new Steelbook Edition for the original Saw movie would have been a welcome addition, it is currently missing from this lineup. The Unrated Edition of the first Saw film was previously released on 4K Blu-ray in 2021, and is available for $14.79 on Amazon. Other films available in 4K editions include the series’ recent entries: Jigsaw (Saw VIII), Spiral (Saw IX), and Saw X. With Saw X set chronologically between the first and second films, it’s a timely option for a rewatch. Spiral, a standalone spin-off featuring Chris Rock, offers a new perspective, though it may not resonate as well with fans. The 2017 movie Jigsaw, set a decade after the original series, presents a self-contained story, enhancing the viewing experience of those familiar with the earlier films.

Saw Movie Blu-ray Box Sets & Standalone Blu-rays

Saw 10-Film Collection (Blu-ray) / Saw 7-Film Collection (Blu-ray)

  • Saw: 10-Film Collection (Blu-ray + DVD) — $50 ($65)
  • Saw: 8-Film Collection (Blu-ray + DVD) — $25
  • Saw: 7-Film Collection (Blu-ray) — $20

If you’re considering purchasing the newly available 4K Blu-ray versions along with the existing four Saw movies in the same format, only three titles remain missing. There is a possibility that Saw V, VI, and The Final Chapter may receive 4K updates. However, if you prefer not to wait, the standalone Blu-ray editions or the 10-Film Collection might be appealing. Both Saw V and Saw VI, along with The Final Chapter, are priced at $15 or less in 1080p Blu-ray resolution. The Saw 10-Film Collection, priced at $50 (originally $65), includes discs for each movie, ensuring high-quality playback without the compression issues seen in other collections. In contrast, the Saw 7-Film Collection, offered at just $20, compresses multiple films onto each disc, which could result in a marked downgrade in video quality for those accustomed to 4K viewing.

The Saw 8-Film Collection, available for $25, includes four Blu-ray discs and five DVDs, providing a slightly better value by including Jigsaw with its own dedicated disc of special features. However, the remaining Blu-ray discs are the same as those in the 7-Film Collection.

While the Saw 10-Film Collection, released last spring to mark the franchise’s 20th anniversary, is not without its flaws, it represents the most comprehensive option for collectors. This set includes 23 discs, each film on its own Blu-ray and DVD, ensuring the highest quality and complete access to all previously released special features. The first three films also include additional special features DVDs, bringing the total disc count to 23. The collection is complemented by four collectible art cards and is packaged in an oversized plastic case within a cardboard box adorned with one of Jigsaw’s iconic traps.

Saw V / Saw VI / Saw VII Unrated on Blu-ray

The 7-Film and 8-Film Collections are suitable for those primarily interested in viewing all the movies without a focus on special features or the distinction between 4K and 1080p resolutions. The 7-Film Collection, particularly cost-effective at less than $3 per film, contains the Unrated editions of the main series from the 2004 debut through 2010’s Saw 3D, also known as The Final Chapter. For those who view the series as a seven-movie arc that concluded in 2010, the 8-Film Collection might still be appealing for its inclusion of DVD versions of each film at only $25.

Complete Saw Series on 1080p Blu-ray

The entire Saw series is also available as individual 1080p Blu-rays. The Unrated editions of the seven primary films are priced at $15 apiece and feature matching cases with artwork representing one of Jigsaw’s games from the respective movie. The bonus content varies but includes audio commentaries, making-of featurettes, retrospectives, short films, and other intriguing behind-the-scenes material. The latest trio of Saw films are also available on standard Blu-ray at affordable prices, although their cases unfortunately do not match the original designs.

  • Saw — $10.81 ($15)
  • Saw II — $15
  • Saw III — $9 ($15)
  • Saw IV — $8.33 ($15)
  • Saw V — $14.49 ($15)
  • Saw VI — $11.67 ($15)
  • Saw: The Final Chapter — $15
  • Jigsaw — $10 ($15)
  • Spiral — $12 ($20)
  • Saw X — $12.49 ($20)

For enthusiasts of the series, the upcoming release of the Billy the Puppet Funko Pop is another exciting addition. This eerily charming collectible, complete with its iconic tricycle, is available for preorder at $15, with the release scheduled for September 27.
